TYLER, TX—Brian Brandt was recognized as Leadership Tyler’s 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award honoree at the organization’s reunion celebration on Feb. 26 at Hollytree Country Club in Tyler.
The Distinguished Alumni Award is given annually to a Leadership Tyler alum nominated by his or her peers within the organization and chosen by past award recipients.
“Receiving the award acknowledges an alum’s outstanding commitment to living out the Leadership Tyler mission through enriching their community”, said Smittee Root, LT executive director. “Brian is a great leader who has had a positive impact on our community as well as with everyone he comes in contact with.”
A graduate of Leadership Tyler Class 19, Brandt is the CEO and co-founder of Core Insights, a company offering training, strategic planning and coaching to organizations and individuals. In 2015, Core Insights added a speakers’ bureau to its offerings, providing speakers for events throughout the country. Prior to creating Core Insights, Brandt founded a consulting company, and also held various leadership positions at organizations such as Grace Community Church, Sky Ranch, and Kanakuk Kamps. Brandt has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in global leadership. His work has allowed him to impact organizations throughout the country, and his local volunteer efforts have included serving with CATALYST 100, Leadership Tyler, Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, Bethesda Clinic, City of Tyler, Pine Cove, Young Professional’s Network, Grace Community Church and many others.
“Ten years ago, Leadership Tyler was instrumental in influencing my focus on increased leadership. The organization provided me with some great tools, insights and relationships that provided a super platform to launch from in order to impact this community and beyond,” said Brandt. “I’m honored, and I’m grateful.”
A non-profit organization formed in 1986, Leadership Tyler provides opportunities for people to improve their professional skills, learn about the Tyler area and serve as community leaders. The Leadership Tyler curriculum educates class members about vital issues that affect our community, while developing their leadership and stewardship tools to address those issues and motivate others. In the process, relationships are built to help improve quality of life in Tyler.
