Applying for the Leadership Tyler
Core Program

The mission of Leadership Tyler is to equip leaders to enrich the community. Accordingly, its programs are designed to help participants acquire an understanding of the critical issues affecting the region and the leadership and stewardship capabilities necessary to resolve them.

Leadership Tyler Class 27 is designed around a model that incorporates key objectives for community leadership including a wide knowledge base; specialized community leadership skills; and community trusteeship. Time commitments include the following:

• Opening Retreat:Thursday and Friday, September 12-13, 2013. (Attendance is mandatory.) Departing Tyler the morning of 9/12 and returning the afternoon of 9/13.
  
  
• Closing Retreat:Thursday and Friday, May 1-2, 2014. (Attendance is mandatory.) Departing Tyler at 10:30 a.m. on 5/1 and returning by 3:00 p.m. on 5/2.
  
  
• Monthly Class Sessions (Thursday):10/10/13, 11/14/13, 12/12/13, 1/9/14, 2/13/14, 3/06/14, 4/10/14 from 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Each participant can miss only ONE class Day, or eight hours total, due to illness or unavoidable conflict. This will be strictly enforced.
  
  

Application Instructions

Provide all of the information requested in this application, relevant to your own experience and background. Your application must be received by midnight on Friday, June 1, 2013.

The commitment page and optional scholarship application must be sent to the Leadership Tyler office at 315 North Broadway, Suite 202, Tyler, TX 75702 or scanned and emailed to info@leadershiptyler.org. The link to pay your $35 application fee will be accessible after completion of your application. Candidates will be interviewed after submitting payment of the application fee, a completed application, a completed commitments for participation form, and a completed application & verification form.

Tuition

Tuition for each participant in Leadership Tyler is $1,750 of which at least $150 must be paid by the individual applying. Leadership Tyler has a limited amount of financial assistance available. Those requesting assistance must complete the Tuition Assistance Application, which is a downloadable PDF file available after submitting your application. Applications for assistance are confidential and have no bearing on the Screening & Selection Committee's decisions.
